Intro
If you're a Windows 11 user who's been going through the frustrating issue of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth randomly disconnecting, you're not alone. I've been there too, trying every trick from the internet which I could find, from updating drivers to reinstalling the operating system. Nothing seemed to work.
Finally, after countless hours of troubleshooting, I stumbled upon a solution that might seem a bit unconventional, but it worked wonders for me.
Note: This could be of software level or hardware level issue, troubleshoot accordingly by understanding the situation properly. In my case I tried every software solution which made me think about hardware as a culprit.
TLDR
If you have tried everything related to software solutions and you are still finding it hard to make your wifi and bluetooth work again, try cleaning the wifi card.
Fixing the Issue
Here's what I did:
I decided to take a more hands-on approach. I opened up my laptop and carefully removed the Wi-Fi card.
This wifi card is also responsible for bluetooth signals as well, in my case it is an Intel AC-9560 Card. In your case it could be different as well.
This is how the Wifi card looks like:
After removing the screw and disconnecting the antenna wires, I cleaned the Wi-Fi card with an eraser.
Why Eraser? Well because erasers can remove oxidation and dirt from the metal contacts of the card. Over time, the contacts (which connect the card to your motherboard) may accumulate dust, grime, or oxidize, especially in rainy or cold season leading to poor or unstable connections.
By rubbing an eraser over the contacts, you remove this layer of residue which can improve its functionality.
It's a common troubleshooting technique for many electronic components including RAM as well.
I then reassembled the card by putting it back in the slot and then reconnecting the wires in the small slot.
Note: Reconnecting the antenna wires can be tricky, when putting it back make sure you put them at their original place. Also when you put them there will be a clicky sound, this clicky sound is locking mechanism.
Once I got the antenna alignment right, both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth were functioning flawlessly.
Conclusion
If you have tried everything related to software solutions and you are still finding it hard to make your wifi and bluetooth work again, try cleaning the wifi card.
I hope this helps :)
